Flattery
Everyone likes to hear nice things about themselves. If you're looking to win an argument, then flattery can be a very useful tool.
Start massaging someone's ego, and they'll get a taste for it. Like a junky, they'll be hooked. Threaten to cut them off, and they'll do whatever it takes to get the complements flowing again.
For this technique to work best, you need to know your enemy. What is it that they care about most? Should you complement them on their intelligence? Or their morals? Or should you go for some good old-fashioned flirting?
If in doubt, try each of these in turn, monitoring your opponent's response.
Once you've hit the right buttons, you're in control. Link the complements to agreement with your position. This is like bribing kids with cookies. If your opponent agrees with you, then they get a cookie; if they disagree with you, then they don't.
You'll soon find that they're perfectly behaved.
